Answer . Given the era in which he was writing his inspiration was straightforward and Scriptural. His Pentecostal roots and the time in which he lived were characterized b…y an emphasis that the people of God are under assault from the forces of darkness, hence the first verse and that God would come to their rescue through the rapture, hence the chorus and the second verse. See especially, First Thessalonians 4: 13-18 and Matthew 25.. Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words. (I Thess 4: 13-18). When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world...Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels...And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. (Matt 25:31-34, 41, 46)

There is really no specific time or limit when someone may decide to come back it could be within days to weeks or longers. Sooner is always better however, it is always best …to not put your life on hold for what may never happen.
Jesus already came, died on the cross to wash everyones sins away, and rose. He will be back though when the time is right
One view: Don't expect Christ to be descending with the clouds from heaven. This is literal interpretation of the Bible. In the Old Testament, Daniel prophesied that the M…essiah would descend with the clouds of heaven. When Jesus came to the world, He did not descend with the clouds. He came physically through an ordinary woman, Mary. However, as soon as Jesus was baptized, heaven opened and the Spirit of God descended on him. The prophecy was fulfilled by the descend of the Holy Spirit from heaven and not His physical body descending from heaven. When Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, the Apostles were told "This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven. Jesus has returned very shortly after, i.e. during Pentecost. He came back in the form of Holy Spirit descending from heaven, not physically descending from heaven. If Jesus has returned, why did the Apostles still talk about His coming in their Epistles as well as in the Revelations? The coming of the Lord, the coming of Christ and similar expressions refer primarily to the judgment of God on all man. This judgment happens in the life time of all man. James wrote in his Epistle that the Lord's coming is near, the Judge is standing at the door! (James 5:8-9) If this is referring to a physical coming at the end of the world, it could not be described as near, and certainly not at the door. It is at the door of every man because it will happen in their life time. no one knows when, but i believe he is coming back soon Another answer Matthew 24:14 says when the gospel of the kingdom is preached in all the world for a witness to all nations. I believe that most that are alive today will see the second coming, probably between now and the end of 2012. I have not heard anyone else say it, I just see the world moving toward what the Bible says will be in the last days, as in the days of Noah. We have the ability now to spread the gospel throughout the world via the internet to all nations as referenced as the main sign given by Jesus above. There are many other things prophsied (told us by the Spirit of God) in the Bible, but these two are plenty for me to know that it is time to prepare the bride of Christ for His return. Another answer Not just yet. Prophecy says that Jesus will return at the "last trump" or "trumpet" sound, which may or may not be a literal trumpet blast, considering that Revelation calls those trumpets "plagues." (Rev.9:20) But, in the chronology of Revelation, the "last trumpet" doesn't sound until AFTER the prophesied testimony of the "Two Witnesses" for three-and-a-half years during the Great Tribulation in Jerusalem (Rev.11). It says that God will not allow them to be killed until the 3 1/2 years is done. Then, the Beast will kill them... and they will lie dead in the streets of Jerusalem until they suddenly resurrect 3 1/2 days later and RISE INTO THE CLOUDS. Which sounds a lot like the description of God's saints rising into the clouds to meet the Lord in the air upon His return. Strangely enough, it's at this time (verse 15) that the seventh and last trumpet sounds, which marks the return of Jesus Christ. The evidence is, then, that the Two Witnesses will be killed toward the end of the Great Tribulation 3 1/2 days before Jesus returns to the earth with the Kingdom of God. "...the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever." (verse15) "Soon," of course, is a relative term when measured against eternity... but Jesus isn't prophesied to return until after the Two Witnesses show up in Jerusalem and give their 3 1/2 year testimony on behalf of God's people being persecuted and killed. In the Tribulation, organized religion will be put down, and the Two Witnesses will fulfull the witnessing of the Kingdom of God to all the nations by the very sensation of them and their plagues. For 3 1/2 years, the Lord will not allow the world to stop them. But, I haven't seen the Two Witnesses, yet. We don't know how quickly He's coming from our point of view. Jesus says in Revelation that he is coming quickly. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Revelation 22:20 But time to the Lord is different than we see it. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 2 Peter 3:8 Another answer Matthew 24:14 when the gospel of the kingdom is preached in all the world for a witness to all nations. I believe that most that are alive today will see the second coming, probably between now and the end of 2012. This is not in any Gospel.
Biblically, soon is anytime between now and then.
Coming soon jesus in all his glory not just a savior, but a reigning king coming soon and the whole world will be witness oh be ready, for he is coming soon verse 1 once he c…ame to this old world of sin and sorrow an humble baby, in a manger in bethlehem but this time he's coming in all his power great kings of earth shall bow and worship his great name verse 2 and when he comes he'll bind the power of old satan little children with the lamb and lion will play all the earth will be so filled with his glory no need for crying for all tears are wiped away.
Yes. He said so himsaelf in Revelation 22.20 - "Surely I come quickly." Another Answer : Jesus told us that no one but the Father knows the day and hour - not even Hi…m. Yet, Jesus also told us to watch always and be prepared. He told us of signs that would inevitably occur in Matthew 24. Be vigilant. Surely it would be fair to say that with the coming and ending of each day, humanity comes that much closer to the 2nd Coming.
I'd say no. Some people in the religious community believe it but most people don't take religion too seriously and think nothing's going to happen.
In Jesus Christ
No man knows the day or the hour Jesus will return. We also know it will be a time we son't expect.
Yes. But here is the catch. From Jesus' point of view, all times are "soon". _________________________________________________________________ No one knows when Jesus (peace b…e upon him) would be back per the will of Allah (or God in English and same God worshiped in Christianity and Judaism).
