Chuck Norris (born March 10, 1940) is an actor, and martial-arts expert in the United States. He is known for roles in Martial Arts movies and as "Walker, Texas Ranger", in a TV series from 1993 to 2001.

He learned Karate (TangSooDo) from an instructor named Chin Jay Chul. He was in Korea at Osan Air Base in 1960 and 1961. He left Korea With a First Degree Black Belt.

In 1969, Norris won more American karate championships than any other competitor, and was named Black Belt Magazine's "Fighter of the Year". Chuck Norris retired with a tournament karate record of 183-10-2.
