Best Answer

King Archelaus I of Macedon was his last patron. Euripedes was from a very rich family, by the accounts, and would not have required a patron for financial reasons. However, near the end of Eurpides' life, at the invitation of Archelaus I he moved to Macedonia. He was reportedly killed by the King's hunting dogs when out walking in the woods.
