Isaiah was a Jewish prophet, the son of Amoz, who lived in Jerusalem during the reigns of Kings Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah. In Isaiah 1:1, he says that he was writing concerning what he saw concerning Judah in his own lifetime.
Isaiah lived centuries before the time of Jesus and knew nothing of him, and therefore never mentioned Jesus in the Book of Isaiah. However, the Book of Isaiah seems to be an ideal source for quotes that Christians can use to link Jesus back into the Old Testament.
