Answer Jane Seymour was the third wife of King Henry VIII of England. She was born around 1509, the daughter of Sir John Seymour and his wife Margaret Wentworth. She came to King Henry's court as a Lady in Waiting to his first wife, Catherine of Aragon and continued to serve his second wife, Anne Boleyn. She married Henry on 30th May 1536 and died from complications of childbirth a few days after giving birth to Henry's only legitimate son, Edward, on 12th October 1537. This son later became King Edward VI. She is buried in the Lady Chapel at Windsor Castle, where Henry was later buried alongside her.
