The European powers, along with the United States, WANTED Germany to be the stronger force. The greater the enemy, the greater the glory. If the allies (Europeans) were to lose to Germany, there would be no loss of face. If they lost to an Asian power, such as Japan, it would have been un-bearable! Therefore, Germany was the stronger force in WW2. Some books have discussed this subject: "War Without Mercy: Power in the Pacific War." By John W. Dower (1987); ISBN 0-3947-5172-8; and "Eagle Against the Sun: The American War Against Japan." By Ronald Spector (1985); ISBN 0-39474-101-3. In reality, when comparing the two military nations, Japan had the stronger navy, and Germany possibly had the stronger army. Germany's "possible" rating for their army, is based upon the British and American habit of almost ALWAYS "Overestimating the Germans" simply because they wanted them to be superior to the Japanese. Remember...the greater the enemy, the greater the glory. And almost ALWAYS "Underestimating the Japanese." Who really had the stronger Army? Let's look at some facts, instead of "opinions." 1. Japan defeated Russia in a war (1904-1905)/France couldn't defeat Russia/Germany couldn't defeat Russia. 2. Japan never lost a war/Germany lost WW1. 3. Japanese Armies & Navies seldom if ever surrendered/German Armies & Navies often surrendered. 4. Japanese battleships engaged Russian battleships to the death at Tsushima in 1905/German Battleships fled at Jutland in 1916. 5. When engaged on an even keel (one on one) surface duel, the Japanese Navy usually defeated the US Navy, until all of Japan's veteran's were killed at Midway; then things began to reverse. One of the USN's worst defeats was at Savo Island in '42. As usual, the USN "Underestimated the Japanese (because they weren't Germans)" (Admiral Turner's report) and paid for it, by losing 3 US HEAVY Cruisers and 1 Australian HEAVY Cruiser during a surface engagement. There were no Japanese losses.

Germany became sopowerful because of Adolf Hitler made the war of Britain happen and Adolf Hitler was a very powerful man but that did not make them win the war as Britain didn't starve because of rationing and Germany surrendered so that's why Germany where so powerful but still didn't win the war.

Did Germany thought that by going into war would become more powerful?

Yes! They tried to show the world they could win war. They were the first ones to use machine guns, planes, tanks... in World War I. Hitler tried to make Germany a big and important country by attacking and conquering other lands. They tried to expand their territory and show the world how powerful they were. Indimitation, is what Germany tried to do to other countries during the I & II World Wars. I guess this is what they thought when they went into war. Hoped it helped!! :)
