You have to look at the case of Leopold and Loeb. These were two wealthy University of Chicago law students who kidnapped and murdered 13-year-old Robert "Bobby" Franks in 1924 in Chicago. They had a high IQ which Loeb scored 210. It was probably one of the higher in the XX century. As the trial finished, Leopold and Loeb were sentenced to life imprisonment. Loeb was killed by a fellow prisoner in 1936; Leopold was released on parole in 1958. They didn't fell remorse what so ever.
