James Pollock (born September 10/11, 1810 in Milton, Pennsylvania died April 19, 1890 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania) succeeded William Bigler as the thirteenth Governor of Pennsylvania, serving between January 16, 1855 and January 19, 1858. Following the end of Pollock's term as Governor, William F. Packer (born April 2, 1807 in Centre County, Pennsylvania; died September 27, 1870 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania) became the fourteenth Governor of Pennsylvania, serving between January 19, 1858 and January 15, 1861.
