Best Answer

Sékouba Konaté was the acting President of Guinea in 2010 until December 21.

Alpha Condé became the President on December 21 for the rest of 2010.

Konaté was previously vice-president but made acting president on 2009 December 3 after the assassination attempt on president Moussa Dadis Camara which left Camara incapacitated after being shot in the head.

Camara and Konaté took power on 2008 December 24 by declaring the country under military rule, after the previous president Lansana Conté died from illness. With this, they deposed the acting president Aboubacar Somparé, and dissolved the government and institutions of the Republic.

Presidential Elections were held in 2010 on June 27 with a run-off on November 7, with Condé coming out a close winner over other candidate Cellou Dalein Diallo. Condé is considered the first democratically elected leader of Guinea in truly credible elections.
