William Howard Taft was the first president to visit Mexico. He visited Ciudad Juarez on October 16, 1909. The next presidential visit wasn't until nearly 35 years later when Franklin D. Roosevelt visited Monterrey on April 20, 1943. There have been a total of 34 presidential visits to Mexico since Taft's inaugural visit, the latest being Barack Obama's visit to Toluca on February 19, 2014.
