First of all the US is the most powerful country this side of the Galaxy, North Korea Isnt even half that They are extremely poor, they have only one Major ally in China who would not risk its thriving economy whit defending puny little KIm Jong Il. They may have nukes but so do we and if they do that then they might as well be Martyrs because the US has plenty of its own and would easily wipe North Korea off the map literally. We have way more firepower via cruise missles, predator drones, stealth bomberrs(The US is the only country to own one) plus with the help of the South Korean Army this war would end in less than 2 years. They may have a massive army but I completely doubt that North Korea would stand a chance against the Superpower of The United States

Had the North conquered the South, they would've won. Which occurred in the Vietnam War...the North conquered the South and won the war.

∙ 11y agoNorth Korea is bigger than South Korea and has more units and soldiers than South Korea but South Korea has tons of more and more advanced modern technologies and very well trained soldiers than North Korea. North Korea has no advanced technologies at all. Their aircraft are very very old, their soldiers are very less trained and their military vehicles are outdated while South Korea has tons of fully updated or fully upgraded technologies, new aircraft and fully new updated military vehicles. South Korea has lots of advanced technologies that are capable of shooting down and destroying missiles flying in the air. South Korea has anti-missile detection radar that can really easily detect and track down flying missiles including ballistic missiles and even nuclear missiles. North Korea maybe good at making threats but South Korea is good at eliminating threats. South Korea's anti-missile weapons can fire high-speed projectiles that can hit and destroy missiles in mid-air within long range. North Korea's missiles failed too many times due to their useless missiles that can be destroyed by ground weapons. South Korea can launch super advanced defense weapons that can follow any kind of threats and destroy what comes to attack the country or the world.
The answer is yes, South Korea can defeat North Korea in a war.
