∙ 10y agoThe CN Tower was originally built to serve as a radio and television broadcasting tower in order to demonstrate Canada's strength in that particular sector of business.
It was not originally intended to be a tourist attraction, but that was built into the design, as it was being developed. As the tallest man made structure in Canada, it is a ideal place to have radio and TV and micro wave transmitters.
