Generally speaking if you're leaking through a tampon within 1-2 hours it's safe to use the next absorbency, although if the tampon isn't saturated in blood after 4-6 hours you should use lower absorbency again. If you're leaking through an ultra absorbency tampon within 1 hour then that is unusually heavy and you should talk to your doctor about investigating the cause or using tranexamic acid to reduce flow.
