Today's Air Conditioning units aren't as harmful as they once were. Todays models come with filters that can be cleaned and a lot of Air Conditioners have drainage holes that the water can drip out of. They used to be dangerous because stale water stayed inside of them and fungus and other things not good for humans to breath, caused one of the most dangerous outbreaks in American History. That was Legionares Disease. I don't remember how many people died until the Scientists found out what was causing these people to die and how to cure it. As with anything, if Air Conditioners are maintained they aren't dangerous to anyone's health.
