The Baha'i Faith is persecuted wherever there are people who do not want others to believe different than they do. Most generally such persecution occurs in countries dominated by Muslims who do not want to consider the possibility that Muhammad might not have been the last Messenger of God. Baha'is have also been persecuted in totalitarian regimes such as Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union as competition for government control of people's minds. Baha'is were persecuted in Uganda under Idi Amin for whatever reason he had. Some Christians have not been welcoming to Baha'is for they see Baha'is as competition and do not want to consider the possibility that Baha'u'llah could be the return of Christ.
