Why do blisters hurt?

Blisters are inflation of the skin due to friction (often aided by lubrication, by sweat or other means). They hurt because this increase of area in the skin provides more friction (and hence pain as more skin is moved about).

well, there is a bubble under your skin and I wouldn't assume that could be very comfortable. But I'm assuming that it's because of your nerves. That's what I've been told (correctly or incorrectly by my science teacher) causes us to feel. ;{D

blisters are in pain because they are dug in your skin.big blood blisters are really really painfull.(got one from skiing i hope it goes soon).

its a blister. Your skin is stretched. of coarse its going to hurt
