Ah, an excellent question!

The Chinese, I presume, believed that the Chinese lung dragon told somebody how to read and write. what I also know of is that the lung dragon likes roasted swan.

Also, it has something to do with the new year, perhaps you'd like to look that up.

Always treat dragons with respect. You don't want to deal with a PO'd dragon!

... Actually, the origin of the Dragon in Chinese myth comes from the first emperor Huang-Di. The legend says that he was born in a thunderclap in the sky on a cloudless day, and that he brought many sciences to the ancient Chinese people. He wrote a book called the Bei Ze Tu which described the 11520 shapeshifters of the universe. When he died, a large metallic dragon was said to have descended from the heavens to take him away.

Some believe that he was decended from dragons, and since all Chinese people are believed to have decended from Huang-Di, they call themselves the people of the Dragon. Another myth says the gods of the Chinese came from the belly of these dragons.

The metallic Dragon in legend is believed to be a device capable of "ascending to the suns" and 3000 years old capable of travelling great distances.

Huang-Di was also the inventer of a device called the "tripod" that was about 4 meters high and contained 100s of energies. It was set up at Summit Lake Mountain and pointed at the Syuan Yuan star (Regulus). Apparently this was where Huang-Di came from. It was said that the Tripod was also able to record Huang-Di's life as it happened.
