Best Answer

If I am not mistaken, the gravity of an object is determined by its mass, and that is what makes it heavy. Size does not always make an object heavier. For example, the planet Jupiter is much larger than earth, but it is less dense and contains no solid matter. Therefore it weighs less and has less gravity.

Heavy rocks are heavy because they have more mass than lighter rocks. And because they have more mass, gravity from the earth pulls down on them more than on lighter rocks.

Rocks are not big, I walk on them, throw them and even skip them across the creek every day.

If they were big I wouldn't be able to do that.

What heavy metals can be found in crude oil?

Easy answer you could have come up with by yourself I think. Crude oil, means oil straight from the ground and not refined yet. Heavy metals means not light metals. So not iron or sodium but Lead and other heavy stuff. Since oil comes from the ground and metals are mined from the ground, it makes sense that they could be found together. So if the teacher wants a different answer he should have said "how is crude oil formed" or something like that.

What heavy metals that can be taken up by plants?

The metals having density more than 5 are usually known as heavy metals. Density of some heavy metals is as below: Zinc (Zn) 7.13 Iron (Fe) 7.87 Copper (Cu) 8.96 Silver (Ag) 10.49 Lead (Pb) 11.36 Mercury (Hg) 13.55 We use fertilizers which contain elements having density more 5 or more than 5 like zinc sulphate or copper sulphate ets. so we can say that plants take these heavy metals in shape of fertilizers.

What is the difference between heavy metals and the other metals?

Scientifically speaking, there are a couple of fundamental differences between heavy metals and other metals in the table of the elements. Heavier metals tend to have more ions and typically, less toxic elements.
