As of May 2011, there are three Jewish justices on the US Supreme Court. President Clinton appointed Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg (1993) and Stephen Breyer (1994); President Obama appointed Justice Elena Kagan (2010).

There have only been eight Jewish members of of the U.S. Supreme Court in the Court's history. The first, Louis Brandeis, was appointed by Woodrow Wilson in 1916. Three members of the sitting Court are Jewish.

Most US Supreme Court justices have been protestant or Catholic. There have been only eight Jewish justices in the history of the Court. The current Court seats three Jewish justices and six Roman Catholic justices.
