because I am a woman (well, almost) I can answer this, it's an easy question. If a woman loves you, and if you are married, yes, it's true, you're supposed to stay honest with each other, but, if she loves you more than you think she does, she may be lying to protect you. You may think that's a pretty cheesy answer, and that that's what all woman say, but it's true, she's trying to protect you, she really does not want to hurt you, and the only way she can think of avoiding seeing you in such pain is by lying. trust me, it's NOTHING we like doing, we only do it when we have to, because we care.

There are many reasons why people lie, such as: Some people lie because they are insecure and lie about themselves (or others) in an attempt to make themselves look better. Examples of this are lying about how much money they make, lying about what their job is, lying about the cost of things they buy, etc. Others lie because they know the truth could get them in a lot of trouble (such as someone cheating or their partner, etc.). Some lie just because they get a kick out of it, and there are some that lie just because they can.

People lie for many reasons. One is fear of punishment or not wanting to hurt your feelings. Being totally honest is very hard because sometimes your friends can be angry with you about what you said and reject you
