Because oboes rock so much that the people didn't want their awesomeness to interfere with the rest of the stinky band. JK! :P The reeds crack easily, and some people think that people can get "hurt" with the reed if the Oboe is ever out of their mouth. Another problem is that oboes expands enormously with humidity making the pitch hard to find and making the oboe crack in certain cases.

I guess the main reason is that there's no music clip for an oboe so he wouldn't be able to carry his music! :P

Oboes can't be in marching band because it would be incredibly hard for one to keep an oboe steady enough to keep their mouth on the reed in correct embouchure. Also, the delicate reed would be too easily broken. Oboes altogether are very delicate and expensive instruments, it would be very risky and unwise to march one.

Because of the difficulties in being able to bow across the strings while walking down a path. Besides, where would one place the lyre that holds the music?

The violin is also not a "band" instrument.

Oboes are not in marching band because theycare a double reed instrument. Also the reed wiuld dry out very quickly in cold November weather. If you are an oboeist who wants to do marching band, I recommend renor Saxophone. It is a relatively easy switch and you will most likely make the marching band.

There's no reason soprano saxophones can't be in marching band, but the vast majority of marching band music only has alto and Tenor Saxophone parts.
