it started when two people in college back when the internet first came into existence wanted to make a easier way to find stuff on the Internet but most search engines only displayed sponsored results (paid to be on the search engine) but these two people decided for it to look for Key phrases you entered and through out the whole web and the site owners didn't have to pay to be on it so there started Google.

∙ 14y agoBecause people have the right of information and freedom of choice. You could ask this with anything like " Why was Microsoft established?" If was a great idea and there wasn't a reason for which not to make such a search engine ( or a company).

∙ 11y agoAt first google was a research project by Page and Brin but while other search engines showed the results in order of how many times the search terms appeared on the page, Page and Brin where thinking about a better system that would analyze the relationship between websites. The technology they called PageRank would be ranked according to the relevance and the importance of the page.
