A simple relating of facts makes it all look like Japans fault from a western viewpoint But here we go...
- Japan and its neighbors had been at war for many centuries on and off prier to WWII
- Japan having a critical fuel supply problem
- needing to supply an increasing manufacturing base
- nursing grievances from past wars and attempted invasions of its neighbors (some many centuries old)
- Japan began invading Korea, China and so on.
- The USA and its Allies placed very sever trade embargoes against Japan
- Sometime during this process Japan and Nazi Germany entered an agreement on how the world would be divided once they won the war that would become WWII and became two of the Axis powers
- In response Japan decided that if it were to be successful in the Pacific the Americans needed to be rendered incapable of effectively intervening in the region.
- This brought about the attack on Pearl Harbour, The Admiral that planned and executed the attack stated that all the Aircraft carriers in the pacific fleet had to be destroyed or Japan would loose the war. History shows how accurate this was.
