Galileo claimed that the Earth moved around the Sun and that there were other planets that did so as well. That was not the opinion of the Catholic Church at that time which considered the Earth to be the center of the Universe that God had created.

The church didn't want Galileo goes against their beliefs.

Most of the Catholic leaders were in agreement with Galileo and his views of a heliocentric universe. However, it was still only an unproven theory at the time and the Church objected to Galileo teaching it as fact. Galileo also incurred the wrath of the Roman Curia with his sarcastic manner which did not help his case at all.

He was in trouble for re-interpreting The Bible by saying that the Sun was at the centre of the universe instead of the Earth.

Galileo was given permission to teach the (heliocentric) Copernican theory as a theory, provided he did not assert that the Sun is at the centre. He ignored this instruction and got into trouble because of that.

It's now agreed that the Sun is at the centre, but this is because of discoveries made long after Galileo's time.

Why did the Church of Rome try to murder Galileo?

The Catholic Church, and more specifically the Church in Rome, never tried to murder Galileo. Galileo was a personal friend of the Pope, at that time, and, although he was tried for heresy, and told to stop teaching his theory as fact, as he had no proof, he was certainly never murdered.
