Answer

King Henry VIII of England married six times - his main reason was to try and produce a son who would be the undisputed, male heir to the throne.

He did not, personally, kill any of his wives - the two wives who were executed, Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard, were tried and convicted by a court of law.

Henry VIII killed his two wives, mainly because they were unfair towards him or he was not happy with them. He also killed the Duke of Suffolk and the Duke of Buckingham because they were rival claimants to the throne and were threats. He also killed Empson and Dudley, because they were his fathers, Henry VII's tax collectors, and he would gain popularity if he executed them.

It was rumored that Henry had the princes killed to rid England of anyone that may have a better claim to the throne than his family. Although, there is no proof that the princes were murdered and the only evidence is that the boys disappeared.

Henry was haunted all of his life from the knowledge that the Tutor hold on the throne was a heartbeat from being lost. His father had won the crown from the York and his mother was Elizabeth of York so the York claim to the crown was strong. His mother's brother should have been king so the York factions kept plotting against the Tutor court to gain the crown. Henry needed a son and his wife who had married his brother Albert before his death was too old at 40 to give him the male heir so he began to look for a younger woman to replace her as queen. His killed his wives because they didn't provide him what he needed so he would accuse them of treason and adulterous affairs.

What were Henry VIII parents called?

Henry VIII was the second son of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York. His elder brother, Arthur, Prince of Wales, died in 1502, leaving Henry as heir to the throne. Elizabeth of York, as the older sister of the Princes in the Tower, she had a better claim to the throne than Henry VII. Henry VII solved this problem by marring her and unting the Houses of Lancaster and York, as is shown in the Tudor rose. Elizabeth became the mother of Henry VIII.

How is Queen Elizabeth II related to henry vIIi?

the answer is Elisabeth of york is henrys mother and Elisabeth II is henrys mothers mum Elizabeth of York was the Queen of Henry VII, and the mother of Henry VIII. But the question is about Queen Elizabeth II, who is descended from Henry VIII 's father Henry VII and mother (Elizabeth of York) via their daughter Margaret who married into the Scottish royal family, then down through the Stuarts and successive Monarchs down to the present day. The confusion is that Elizabeth II 's parents were Duke and Duchess of York before becoming King and Queen, but they were never referred to simply as "of York".

Why did Richard III put the princes in the tower?

None, because he didn't kill them (if you mean Henry VII). The murders have traditionally been blamed on his predecessor, Richard III who had them imprisoned there. I understand some historians now cast doubt on his guilt.
