Hitler attacked Holland (or, The Netherlands) in 1940 for two reasons. First, his vision for Europe included total control of all potential aggressor-nations by Germany. Second, moving into Holland served as a key piece of the deception involved in the German invasion of France. France, he reasoned correctly, would fall more easily if Holland itself were to be attacked, as well.

Hitler took over Hungary Austria in 1938.

Answer 2:Germany NEVER took over Austria-Hungary.

First, Austria-Hungary fell apart 1918 at the end of WW1. And then Austria wasn't taken over, it was annexed in 1938.

Germany took over Holland for its strategic position to the UK and because rotterdam is has the biggest habor in the world. also from holland they could march in to Belguim and than France.
