Viewing the real man behind all of the hype and rhetoric surrounding him, Osama bin Laden's driving motivation was to become a world leader and a respected person, much like Adolf Hitler. Also like Hitler, he used blame to support his ideals; he didn't care who or what was destroyed in the effort; and like Hitler his strategies can only be effective in the short term and are very costly for those involved. We are fortunate the the Muslims of the world were not as easily convinced as the Germans of the twentieth century.

∙ 11y agoGovernment relations are very tricky. Politics are corrupt everywhere, but that plot was not American born. Terrorists openly and proudly hate America and Christianity. They were targeting areas they knew would get a lot of attention. They interrupted the stock market to hurt our economy. A lot of training was needed to execute that plan, and who knows what the full potential was.

He really didn't like USA and wanted to show it. He sent his troop over to USA and they learned how to make bombs and fly planes. So they stole one of our jets and crashed into the twin towers (located in New York) which killed a lot of our people. Then they later on blew up other things (not it USA though) and was then one of the ten most wanted on the FBI'S list. He did those things to state that he didn't like us and that he had the power to hurt us...

Bin Laden believed he and his followers were justified to attack the west because in his view, the west was attacking Islam. He was opposed to the presence of western (including American) troops in Saudi Arabia, which is the holy land to Muslims. He also resented America for killing Muslims during the Gulf War.
