Nixon was not kicked out of office. He resigned. It is very possible that he would have been impeached because of the Watergate scandal. Nixon authorized men to break into the Democratic Headquarters. A president swears to follow the law, not order breaking and entering.

No one "forced" Nixon to resign. It was the only course of action he could take to avoid impeachment ("firing") on criminal charges and possible incarceration. Given the mood of the country at the time if he had stayed in office there is a strong possibility that he would have been legally removed from office and could have been jailed for his crimes.

Nixon was involved in the Watergate Scandal, where some men broke into the rival political party's headquarters to steal information. He tried to cover it up, but he was caught and impeached. To save Congress the trouble, he resigned.
