∙ 14y agoSephiroth kills Aerith. In the City of the Ancients Aerith is praying for Holy and Sephiroth drops from the ceiling and stabs her in the back, killing her instantly.

Aeris was an ancient, or Cetra, and was the only one left alive who could activate the white materia. Knowing this, Sephiroth killed her. He failed, however, in killing her before she prayed for the materia to activate and turn green.
