Invader Zim was cancelled due to poor ratings , the dark nature of the show , problems with going over budget . They did try to get the show moved to MTV like Ren and Stimpy but that never went through .

∙ 11y agoactually, it was cancelled because of complaints from time to time about some of the content, and also, the ratings. It was also cancelled because of the age it was aimed for. People 13-18 years old started watching it. I, myself want invader zim back, to be honest. Nick discovered bloody gir way after the show was cancelled. they also put in bloody gir, because he was supposed to be in "Gir Goes Crazy and Stuff", but they didn't allow it, so they put him in random frames to get back at Nick. That is, if anyone was wondering.

∙ 13y agoIt is most likely that Nickelodeon didn't like the violence that Invader Zim was heading towards. But it is known for a fact that it was NOT because of "Bloody Gir". It couldn't have been because Nickelodeon found out about Bloody Gir AFTER Invader Zim was canceled.
FYI Invader Zim HAS been brought back. It airs on Nickelodeon every night from 10 PM to 10:30 PM Eastern Time every night. Even if they do continue the series, it won't be the same because Jhonen Vasquez has already walked.

∙ 14y agoSome people say that it was because Jhonen Vasquez wanted to put a "Bloody GIR'' in one of the episodes. They said no but he went and snuck it in anyway. Then he got fired and they therefore had to quit Invader Zim. Some people say that they quit it because there was more fans of the Nickelodeon show The Fairly Oddparents than Zim.
I hoped this helped and for Zim and GIR fans, Its coming back on Nicktoons Network in March of 2010! Keep your eyes out! :)

∙ 12y agono one really knows. some of the most likely causes are, one, bloody gir. bloody gir is an image of gir covered with blood. jhonenvasquze wanted to put bloody gir in an episode but when they would not let him he got mad and put them in many different episodes very vissible like an Easter egg, two, dark harvest. dark harvest is an episode in with zim steals kids organs in order to appear more human. three, not enough veiws. nicktoons changed the timing of invader zim to really early in th morning with out telling the veiwers there for no one knew when it was on so they could not watch it.
