Why did Jesus come to earth?

One Answer: Jesus healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, gave hope to the brokenhearted, made the lame to walk and the dumb to speak along with many more marvelous things. He performed many many miracles! To find these stories look up Matthew, Mark and Luke in the New Testament part of The Bible.

Another Answer: Jesus came to earth to save us from our own pathetic sins (transgressions) we as people are born into a sinful nature only redeemable by the blood of Christ the lamb.

Another thought:

Adam was a perfect man (son of God)(Luke 3:38) who disobeyed God and sinned.

From that point on, any children he had would be imperfect and subject to death through no fault of their own.

To rectify this problem, and bring about the fulfillment of God's purpose for mankind and the earth (Genesis 1:28)(Acts 17:26) God sent his son, Jesus

Jesus was a perfect man (son of God)(Matthew 16:16) who remained FAITHFUL to God, and never sinned(1 Peter 2:22). Jesus replaced Adam as our 'father', and paid the equal ransom price for our sins, perfect life for perfect life (Romans 5:12)(1 Corinthians 15:45)(1 Timothy 2:5+6)

He came to die as a 'propitiatory'(covering) sacrificefor our sins, giving us a hope for the future that we would not have had otherwise.(1 John 2:2)(John 6:40)(1 John 4:10)

We still have a choice...follow the example of our original father, Adam, and ignore God's direction and die, or choose to follow our NEW father, Jesus, and live forever (John 3:16)(John 17:3).

In coming as the ultimate sacrifice, Jesus fulfilledthe Mosaic Law (Matthew 5:17), ended it(Colossians 2:13+14), taught the truth about his father (John 18:37) which had been covered over by Jewish tradition by then, and preached, and taught his disciples to preach, about God's Kingdom(Luke 4:43, Mark 1:38) that will end all the problems mankind faces here on earth forever(Revelation 21:4)(1 Corinthians 15:20-28) (Matthew 5:5/Psalms 37:10,11,29) )Matthew 28:19+20)(Matthew 24:14)

Basically, Jesus came to make everything God has promised, come true.(2 Corin 1:20)

Christ came to earth at the command of His father, He was to represent his Father in all things.

1. He came to replace the old law as was given to Moses.

2. He taught His Gospel and organized His church with the aid of the twelve apostles.

3. He atoned for the transgression of Adam and the sins of all of mankind, so that they might not die in their sins and forever be cast out from the presence of the Father.

Another one: He came down to Earth because God the Father called him to do so. He came down to Earth to undo what sin has done. Before sin, Adam and Eve were living in Paradise (The Garden of Eden). But when they both sinned, suffering, pain, death, disease, profanity, perversion, lust, lies, etc. came into the world. Jesus has come down to undo that.

This is a very truncated answer since it would take too long to explain the entire New Testament. So let me just give you a brief overview.

According to the Bible, the Earth was becoming too overun by sin. Satan was gaining control and everyone was breaking the commandments, and thus going to Hell. Therefore, Jesus (God in the flesh) was born to defeat Satan. He gained followers and spread the teachings of God. The Roman Empire found him to be a threat to the empire however, and he was crucified. He was said to have died for our sins and he rose from the dead three days later. From then on, one could break the commandments as long as they went to church, repented and followed Jesus, thus becoming saved and forgiven. Therefore, God gave proof of his existence through Jesus without interfering directly. Because of this, people moved further away from Satan and started following Jesus Christ.

Jesus came to save Gods people from their sins. If Jesus hadn't come to earth we would have no hope. DO NOT TURN TO Atheism OR EVOLUTION!!! Christianity is the only true belief. You must believe in God and love him. Ask him for forgiveness of your sins. Pray attend church and if God forgives you and you can accept him into your life you will have salvation and live with him in paradise.

Zacchaeus was a wicked tax collector, who when he turned to Jesus and repented of his wickedness, "Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." John 19:9,10.

As you know Jesus lived in heaven because he was the Son of God. Mankind since the fall in the Garden of Eden were sinners. Mankind was spiritually dead. God had created man to be in accord with Him, to worship, glorify and serve Him. But man sinned and could not approach God because He is Holy and hates sin. So in the plan of God, Jesus was sent to earth to be born to the virgin Mary. Jesus became a human being. Jesus is the God/Man. He is both fully God and He is fully Man. Jesus had to become a man in order to be the sacrifice for mankind's sin. And He had to be sinless and He was because He was the Son of God.

Jesus grew up in Nazareth, but when He became about 30 years of age He went to Jerusalem and specifically to the Jordan River to be baptized of John the Baptist to began His ministry on earth. (Jesus was sinless and did not need to be baptized, but as Matthew 3:15 tells us, Jesus told John, "it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness..." This act of baptism was a necessary part of the righteousness He secured for sinners).

Ultimely Jesus came to die for the sins of mankind in order to reconcile mankind back to God. He died on the cross, was buried, and was resurrected the third day.

Even though Jesus died for the sins of mankind that does not mean that all of mankind will go to heaven or have eternal life. People have to reconize who Jesus is and put their faith in Him as their Savior. This is the only way to inherit eternal life. John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father.
