The first ghost, the Ghost of Christmas Past, showed Scrooge his past Christmases and how they influenced the person he became. This experience helped him reflect on his actions and understand the root of his current behavior and attitudes.
The Ghost of Christmas Past visits Scrooge, because it uses Scrooge's very own painful memories against him, as a kind of a way to show him what poor people suffered in the time of the story. It wants him to become a good person.
He points out that the visions Scrooge sees are of his own past and that there were good and bad time. He cannot forget the bad times but he can remember how he felt and how he now acts in a similar way to those who caused Scrooge pain. He too should see the good times and emulate those to allow others to have these, if only from small but notable deeds , here the ghost cites the Christmas party thrown by Mr Fezziwig each year for his employees that cost little but meant a lot to the employees
Scrooge sees the issues that made him what he was at the time of the ghostly visits. Many of his sad memories where brough forward from his past. These had a very large impact on him leaving him saddened and demanding that the visions were taken away
The Ghost of Christmas Past did affect Scrooge, but possibly not as much as The Ghost of Christmas Present and The Ghost of Christmas Future. The Ghost of Christmas Past served to remind Scrooge of things he possibly had forgotten.
He makes Scrooge see his own past, the good and the bad things that have occurred and allows Scrooge to see how these events effected him then and how in part they still effect him
The Ghosts role was to show Scrooge what good and bad had happened to him in his past and where he was to change to the person he was at that time
Scrooge is heart broken at the sites he sees. many were of sad moments in his life that he wishes to completely forget
He was fully clocked and only one bony hand was visible. he didnt speak but made gestures. despite repeated requests from Scrooge he didnt answer merely pointed to visions
he is scared
The first ghost to visit Scrooge was that of his business partner, Jacob Marley. Later Scrooge was visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Yet to Come
The Ghost of Christmas past brings Scrooge to a party at Scrooge's first employer, Mr Fezziwig's.
At 1 am
Marley
Scrooge managed to get rid of the ghost by grabbing its extinguisher cap and putting it back on. The ghost then twisted the extinguisher's side-arm and disappeared, leaving Scrooge alone in his bedroom.
The very first ghost is Jacob Marley
He takes Scrooge to his old boarding school.
It appears it is the Ghost of Christmas Present as Scrooge realises what he has done , how his actions have impacted on other and how much he could have done to help others less fortunate than himself.
The first ghost (having been foretold by Marley) was to take Scrooge back to his previous Christmases and allow Scrooge to see what it was like for him then and how this changed him
Scrooge was never a ghost in the story
The Ghost of Christmas Past
The ghost takes Scrooge to the Corn Exchange - Here Scrooge would have been seen on a daily bases in his familiar place. On his visit with the ghost Scrooge hears business men speak of a sudden death and asking what will happen to the deceased properties. The ghost does not get involved in any discussion throughout his visitation to Scrooge
