The plot failed because Hitler was saved by a wide table leg, being between him and the bomb. Also, the plotters had no coherent 'after event' plans and in the resulting confusion, Himmler and the Gestapo reacted quicker and more efficiently than the plotters

When WWII started there were many attempts to kill Hitler, but the reason they failed? Because the people that attempted the killing decided not to at the sper of the moment. They new very well that there were consequences and they didn't want to face them, so 50o/o committed suicide afterwards. So, thanks for reading this.... and BTW my great Gpa was a close man to Hitler, he was a spy for the US, so My daddy got ALL this info from him :)

Hitler did not plan to defeat Germany, he planned to make it powerful. Hitler was elected Chancellor of Germany in 1933 and by September he was the Führer, after the death of President Hindenburg.

Germany was very unstable, both politically and economically, after it's hard punishment for World War One (Treaty of Versailles) and the depression caused by the Wall St. Crash ( Germany's Dawes Plan meant that it's economy was based entirely off American loans). When Hitler came into power, he planned to make Germany an autarky, a self sufficient state, and a war machine.

Germany would once again be great, and would reestablish itself as one of the great world powers.

Some claim that if Hitler had died in 1937, there would be statues of him all over Germany today because of what he did. Until he turned extremist, Hitler was a good leader.

Two basic reasons. One that Stauffenberg failed to arm the second plastic explosive. The other is that in the briefing room (where the bomb was planted) there was massive oak table and another officer unknowingly moved Stauffenber's satchel (with the bomb in it) away from the Führer. He put it behind the thick table legs that absorbed the impact.

Hitler was caught in the blast in the July plot, but a table leg saved him from being killed or even seriously wounded by the blast. Other plots, like the Brandy bomb plot, failed due to aptmospheric conditions in the aircraft.

There are actually a couple of reasons. The first was that he didn't trust his closest advisors to make decisions and some of his decisions such as attacking Russia prematurely and interfering with his scientific community caused confusion among hsi top people. Added to that his insistance on maintaining personal control of all military decisions actually lost the Germans several important battles. The other major mistake was underestimating peoples desire to be free. The underground in France, Poland and Italy provided amazing intelleigence and support for the allies when they invaded France to start pushing the Germans back.
