The Bible, Jesus, Moses, Abraham and so many more.

And, in the words of author and Christian Stephen King, they choose to.

Christianity is finding truth

1. Some say the stories of Jesus are made up and fake. How do you know Jesus did what the Bible said?

First, there are over 30,000 New Testament manuscripts! The New Testament was written 30-70 years after the death of Jesus Christ. There is also a creed in 1 Corinthians 15:3-5 that dates to 5-7 years after Jesus' death. Accounts about Jesus were passed down accurately because in Jewish culture, oral tradition was very important. The smartest Jewish rabbis would memorize the whole Old Testament! So passing stories was not the same as it is today. It required precision and correct telling.

In addition, there were eyewitnesses that saw Jesus and knew Jesus. If the gospel accounts were a bunch of lies and made up stories, the eyewitnesses would tell the community that it was not true. For example, if I died and a biography came out in the newspaper saying I was seven feet tall and ridiculously good looking, people who knew me would call and tell the newspaper that they made a mistake. They would say that I was in fact ridiculously good looking, but not seven feet tall.

Some of you might think, "But 30-70 years is a long time." Did you know that the earliest biography of Alexander the great was written 400 years after his death? Yet it is considered historical fact. Suddenly, 30-70 years doesn't seem that long does it?

2. Muslims, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and the Gnostic gospels all differ on who Jesus was. How are you so sure Christians are right?

First, if all of these religions differ on who Jesus is, one is right and the others are wrong. Which account is most reliable?

The Gnostic gospels are nothing new to Christianity. The Gnostic portrayal of Jesus mixes Greek mythology with Christian belief. The Gnostic gospels were written over 100-200 years AFTER the death of Jesus Christ. The content of the Gnostic gospels has been consistently refuted by Christians since the 2nd century (self-correcting community).

Muslims believe Jesus was a great prophet, but not the Son of God. Muhammad wrote the Koran around 600 years AFTER the life of Jesus. Muhammad never met Jesus and had no eyewitnesses to corroborate his claims. What evidence is there that the Koran's accounts of Jesus Christ are true? One man in a cave 600 years after Jesus died.

Jehovah's Witnesses offered another account about who Jesus was. However, the account was written over 1800 years AFTER Jesus' life…not even close to the actual life of Jesus Christ. Not only that, they also incorrectly predicted the end of the world in 1914, 1915, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1941, 1975, and 1994.

Mormonism, created by Joseph Smith, began in 1827. Again, the account was written 1800 years AFTER Jesus' life. Joseph Smith's claims have no historical credibility or evidence. An even more startling fact is how Joseph Smith died. Joseph Smith was tried for treason. While in jail, an angry mob came to kill Smith. Trying to defend himself, he shot five people and killed two. Smith was eventually shot three times and fell from a second story window to his death.

The New Testament accounts were written 30-70 years after Jesus' life and the creed 5-7 years after his life. The New Testament is backed by EYEWITNESSES who had seen and met Jesus, ORAL TRADITION, and MANUSCRIPT EVIDENCE. Which account seems most trustworthy to you?

3. If God is all powerful and if he is good, why is there evil in the world? If God is all powerful, why doesn't he just destroy evil?

Think carefully, where does all evil come from? Murder, rape, child molestation, theft, lying, jealousy, hate, selfishness, greed, pride, vengeance, grudges, anger. Now what is the source of all this evil?

When it comes down to it, the source of evil is US! Evil comes from the selfish decisions we make. We human beings hate evil, yet we are the ones that create it everyday. Just think about this sad fact: If every human being was wiped out of this planet, evil would NOT exist. So to answer your question, if God should destroy all evil, he would have to destroy…all of us.

The truth is that our very existence is evidence of God's patience and love for us. If you want evil destroyed, you yourself would have to be destroyed. Now would you destroy yourself for the sake of good?

4. Science claims the Earth was created differently than how the Bible states it. How do you know which way is true?

I try to avoid arguing how exactly the Earth was created or what date the Earth was created. But I can assure you this: We are created. After reading this section, please look up into the sky and think about this: You are on Earth. The Earth floats in a huge span of blackness (space). In this huge span of blackness, the Earth is rotating around its axis at around 1000 mph. At the same time, the Earth is rotating around a huge ball of fire (the Sun) at around 67,000 mph. At the same time, the Earth is part of the Milky Way Galaxy, which moves at 22,000 mph. The Milky Way is one of over 100 billion galaxies. The Sun is one of 100 billion stars in the Milky Way Galaxy alone. Earth fits into the Sun a million times. And you are on Earth, alive. Amazing isn't it?

Another interesting thing: Your DNA contains INSTRUCTIONS to make you who you are. Isn't that crazy? Who gives the instructions? Antony Flew, one of the leading atheists until 2004, became a deist after the overwhelming DNA evidence for a Creator.

5. If God is real, why is there suffering?

First, if you don't believe in God, but believe in evolution, it is quite ironic that you complain about suffering. Evolution depends on death, destruction, and violence of the strong against the weak. So how can you say the world is horribly wrong, unfair, and unjust when that is what must happen for evolution to be true?

Suffering is terrible, but there is some good that comes out of it. After you suffer, you become stronger, wiser, and gain the ability to relate to people going through the same thing you did. You learn to appreciate the little things in life you had taken for granted your entire life. I'm not saying suffering is pleasant. But if God is real and the creator of all things, God must be MUCH greater and intelligent than you. And if that's the case, just because you can't see or imagine a good reason why God might allow something bad to happen, it doesn't mean there can't be one.

Another thing people say is that the existence of suffering proves God does not exist. So if I suffer in Burger King, does that mean Burger King no longer exists?

6. If God is love, how can He send people to hell for eternity?

If God is all that is good, he must hate evil. Let me explain. Just imagine if I said that I loved children, but I also accepted child rape, child molestation, and child abuse. I'm sure you would seriously question my love for children. But BECAUSE I love children, I hate those nasty things. Now if God is all that is good and all that is right, He must hate evil.

What if God did not punish evil? Imagine a criminal comes into your home, steals all your things, kills your family, is captured and sent to a judge. During the trial, the judge looks at the guilty criminal and says: "You are guilty of murder. All the evidence is against you. For the evil you have done and the suffering you have caused, you deserve the death sentence. However, I am a kind, loving judge. You are free to go."

How would you respond to that? You would be outraged. You would tell everyone that the judge was unfair, corrupt and evil because the judge did not punish the evil that deserved punishment.

Now if a human judge must punish evil, think how much more must a perfect God! For God to be good, He must punish evil and hell is God's punishment for men who have broken God's laws.

7. Why do I need Jesus?

We will all die. After we die, God will judge us based on our lives and determine whether to send us to heaven or hell. Some of you might think, "I haven't done anything terribly bad in my life. I would go to heaven." I do not know what standard you are comparing yourself to, but what if you are compared to God's standard? God has given us moral standards called the Ten Commandments. Let's say God were to judge you by this standard when you die. How would you do? Let's see.

Have you ever lied before? Have you ever stolen before? Have you ever hated anyone before? Jesus says that hate is committing murder in your heart. Have you ever lusted after a woman or man? Jesus says that lust is committing adultery in your heart. We only went through four of the ten commandments, and if you were honest with yourself, you would come to the conclusion that according to God's standard, you are lying, thieving, murdering, adulterer at heart.

Now if you were to die and God were to judge you today according to HIS standard, NOT yours, how would you do? For all the times we have broken God's laws and committed evil, we would all deserve hell from a good judge.

Then how can a person get to heaven if we all deserve hell? Two thousand years ago, God so loved the world, that He sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for us. What does the cross mean? The cross is where all of God's justice and wrath toward OUR sin was poured INSTEAD upon Jesus. The cross is Jesus taking the punishment all mankind deserves from a holy God. God can only forgive us because Jesus took the punishment WE deserved. We can be right with God only through the forgiveness found in Jesus Christ, which means the ONLY way to heaven is through faith in Christ.

Why did Jesus die for us wicked people? Simply put…because He loves us. =)

Christians believe in Christ because he's the almighty, he died so we wouldn't have to carry around the burden of this world and all the things we do. we can't get forgiveness and love for the things that are utterly unpossible to forgive. I believe in Christ because i know he died to save me.I know he is the guider of my life and when my time comes to pass away I'll go to heaven to be with my family.

Why Christians believe in god? Because the Son of God was born into the world, to declare the Gospel which contains the plan of Salvation and the purpose of life, and to teach mankind how they should conduct themselves and what they must do to come back home into the Kingdom and presents of God the Father."....To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth." John 18:37; "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."John 3:16; "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." John 17:3; "For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23. Christians understand that life as we know it will soon come to an end and all will die, and all will be judged according to their works, whether they sided with Joshua when he declared to Israel, "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:15), or whether they choose to do the works of Satan. Our choices will set in concrete an everlasting Salvation or the eternal damnation of our souls; Christians seek to be saved and since Salvation is in and through Jesus Christ, that's why they believe in God.>

Most Christians believe God exists because they were taught this as children, and have never stopped to question this belief. Increasingly, people do question what they were taught, and many find no basis for belief in God, so ceasing to be Christians.
