Different regions of the world have their own unique religions. Whole countries or areas will have a predominant belief system and do not tolerate any others. Since that is the only ideology that is taught in that area, then that is all they will ever know. Other ideologies may not be tolerated in their region. The result is that they may not be receptive to any other spiritual ideas that come along. Freedom of choice is available only to those who wish to explore the many buried truths that have been hidden from our sight. I sincerely hope that you are one of those truth seekers.
"Say (O Muhammad):
"We believe in Allaah and what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes (sons of Jacob) and what was given to Moses, Jesus and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between one another among them and to Him (Allaah) we have submitted (in Islam)"." (The Noble Qur’an 3:84)
So the Message of Muḥammad is the Message of Abraham, Moses and Jesus, the Prophet Muḥammad said, "Both in this world and the next, I am the nearest of all the people to the son of Mary, and all the prophets are paternal brothers, and there has been no prophet between me and him (Jesus)." The Prophet also said, "Whoever testifies that no deity is worthy of worship but Allāh alone, without any partners, that Muḥammad is His servant and Messenger, that Jesus is the servant of Allāh, His Word which He bestowed upon Māryam, a Spirit from Him, and that Paradise is true and Hellfire is true, then he will enter Paradise through any of the eight gates of Paradise he wishes."
Muslims love Muhammad because he is the prophet and messenger of Allah-(the only one god to Muslims). In the Muslims bible which is called the Al Qura'an, are many chapters of Muhammad's stories, journies and problems. They are all written in arabic. Every Muslim needs to learn to read the Al Qura'an. To Christians, Jesus is the one who is their prophet. Same like Muslims, Muhammad is their prophet. Find out more in websites such as Google.
The holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) lived an examplary life. He taught the Muslims how to lead an honest and pious life. The Muslims seek guidance ans inspiration from him as he is their role model.
Anyone who is submitting fully to Allah (or God in English and same God worshiped in Judaism and Christianity) as the one and only one God with no partner, no companion, no father, no son, no associate, and no equivalence is considered Muslim. All God prophets since Adam through Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, David, Solomon, Moses, ..., Jesus, and Muhammad called for submission to God (that is Islam). However, Islam per The Bible revelation to Jesus is called Christianity and Islam per Torah revelation to Moses is called Judaism and Islam per Quran revelation to Muhammad is called the very name Islam as it is the last God religion and prophet Muhammad is the last God prophet. People are Muslims per Quran revelation to prophet Muhammad for the authenticity and divinity of Quran and the good principals and fundamentals of Islam teachings. Additional factor that persuades many non Muslims to convert currently to Islam is the scientific miracles in many Quran verses that its correctness and validity had been proved only recently through the advances in sciences, discoveries, and technologies although the Quran had be revealed from more than 14 centuries ago.

No Muslim worships anything or anyone but Allah. We do not worship Muhammad (peace be upon him), but we believe that he is the final messenger of God to whom the Qur'an was revealed. We respect him, he is our ideal, we follow him. We try to perform every action of our daily life like he did. But we do not worship him, we worship only Allah, who is the creator of everything.
Answer 1
The Prophet Muhammad was the last Messenger of God. He, like all of God's prophets and messengers - such as Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus -- was only a human being. Christians came to the mistaken assumption that Muslims worship Muhammad by formulating an incorrect analogy - they worship Jesus so they assumed Muslims worship Muhammad. This is one of the reasons that they called Muslims by the incorrect name "Mohammedans" for so many years! Muhammad, like Jesus, never claimed divine status. He called people to worship only Almighty God, and he continually emphasized his humanity so that people would not fall into the same errors as Christians did in regards to Jesus. In order to prevent his deification, the Prophet Muhammad always said to refer to him as "the Messenger of God and His slave". Muhammad was chosen to be God's final messenger --- to communicate the message not only in words but to be a living example of the message. Muslims love and respect him because he was of the highest moral character and he brought the Truth from God - which is the Pure Monotheism of Islam. Even when Islam was in its very early stages, God revealed that Muhammad "was sent as a mercy to all of mankind" - thus informing us that the message of Islam would become very widespread. Muslims strive to follow the great example of Muhammad, peace be upon him, but they do not worship him in any way. Additionally, Islam teaches Muslims to respect all of God's prophets and messengers - but respecting and loving them does not mean worshiping them. All true Muslims realize that all worship and prayer must be directed to Almighty God alone. Suffice it to say that worshiping Muhammad --- or anyone else --- along with Almighty God is considered to be the worst sin in Islam. Even if a person claims to be Muslim, but they worship and pray to other than Almighty God, this cancels and nullifies their Islam. The Declaration of Faith of Islam makes it clear that Muslims are taught only to worship God. This declaration is as follows: "There is nothing divine or worthy of being worshiped except for Almighty God, and Muhammad is the Messenger and Servant of God".
Answer 2
The esteem given Mohammed in Islam is not worship, but reverence for his character and personal qualities. This is similar to the American reverence given to Abraham Lincoln. This does not mean that Americans worship Abraham Lincoln, but that they hold that his example is worth emulating. However, in the case of Mohammed, this is felt more strongly given that Muslims believe that he was chosen by God as the person who reveal a heavenly message.
For the same reasons that every other religious person worships the prophets and deities that they do. Most likely, they were born and raised in the religion. Either that, or they converted, because they felt that that particular religion contained truth.
Allah basically means the one true God.
"Why do Muslims worship Allah?"
