Species that have higher populations are more able to survive.

However, sexual desire is only one of the reasons that men find women's breasts attractive.

Some of the attraction is in that we make breasts taboo in many first world cultures. In some cultures, women are topless most of the time, or are at least topless when swimming. In these cultures, while breasts are still considered attractive, they are not as much of a fetich as they are in the United States.

Plus, there is some aesthetic value in breasts. When looking at the sculpture of David by Michelangelo there is beauty in the male form shown in the strong lines in the thighs, arms, and torso. Likewise, depictions of female beauty focus on the fullness of the woman's breasts and the elegant curves of her hips. While beauty is subjective, most people would consider these features more beautiful than say the lady's left pinky toe or the loose skin on her elbow.

Finally, breasts are how we were fed as babies. They symbolize caring and nurturing to many men.
