because they don't need you to bother them , and they can get scared when you go to squash them which causes them to react and sting you to keep you away, just as you would if you were going to get squashed. They do it to protect themselves.

Do bumblebees attack ramdomly?

Queen and worker bumblebees can sting. Unlike a honey bee's stinger, a bumblebee's stinger doesn't have barbs, so they can sting more than once. Bumblebees are not normally aggressive, but they will sting in defence of their nest, or if they are harmed.

What is songs play in the movie confessions of a teenage girl?

Bumblebees are large, hairy social insects with a lazy buzz and clumsy, bumbling flight. Many of them are black and yellow, and along with ladybirds and butterflies are perhaps the only insects that almost everyone likes. Queen and worker bumblebees can sting, and the photograph above right shows the extended sting of a Bombus lapidarius queen. You don't often see stings as bumblebees are reluctant to use them.

Can male insects sting?

A bee will only sting if it feels under threat. If a bee approaches some people they will try to make it go away by swatting at it with their hands. To the bee this is very threatening -- so it is likely to sting. The best thing to do is keep calm and keep your movements slow. The bee will lose interest in you and fly away. If not, just walk away from the bee.

Can bumblebees sting?

Yes. They can sting if provoked but rarely will as they are not aggressive to people or pets as other wasps are. Their stinger is used for immobilizing it's prey which is primarily the black widow spider. See the related link for more information.

Why does bumble bee sting humans?

The question makes it sound as if bees deliberately fly towards humans. Usually they don't, you just happen to be in their way. The only exception to this is if you are too close to the hive and they consider you to be a threat, in which case they will fly at you in an attempt to make you go away. If you don't move they could well sting.
