Paying zakat has two important goals: it helps the poor, and it purifies a Muslim's income.
Muslims pay zakat because Allah ordered us to do it, in the Holy Qur'an.
Not only Islam even in Christianity.
Christianity is the message of forgiving and loving each other and Zakat is the Arabic word for giving poor people money and since Qur'an came in Arabic Mulims use it.
It relives your soul and helps the poor and erases the hatred between poor people and rich people im Muslim.

The purpose of Zakat is as in charity. It is a good thing, actually... that you will feel great in yourself and that you know God is watching you and that He is aware of what you do. We need to feed the poor people as they deserve the necessities. God is testing us with those people to see if we actually care about them and is considerate. Plus, to see if we are willing to feed them for His sake in order to get His rewards.
It is a demonstration of solidarity of the Islamic society and to help the poor and needy people. Above all it is the 3rd pillar of Islam five pillars. So, its practice is required as obedience to God commands. Refer to question below.
A Muslim pays zakah when they fell they need to every year and every lunar month.
Zakat is required as one of the five pillars of Islam. The ostensible reason is that if God has willed any particular Muslim to have enough wealth to be comfortable, such wealth was conferred with the understanding that the particular Muslim is to help God in providing for humanity.
The pay zakat because they need to please god.

the Muslims people give zakah to those people who in need...........
Zakah is one of the five pillars of Islam and holds great importance for Muslims. It is an obligatory act of giving a portion of one's wealth to those in need. While zakah is significant, it should be viewed in the context of all other Islamic obligations, such as performing prayer, fasting, and obeying the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. Therefore, it can be said that zakah is an integral part of a Muslim's religious duties, but not necessarily the most important thing.
The reason is clear from the box name. Zakah box is for collecting charities and Alms giving that Muslims offer for the mosque to distribute on the poor and needy people as one of the social activities that mosque practices.
