Rabbits and eggs are pagan fertility symbols of extreme antiquity. Birds lay eggs and rabbits give birth to large litters in the early spring these became symbols of the …rising fertility of the earth during the spring season. Since Easter also occurs in the early spring, people brought the beloved pagan symbols into the Christian celebration of Easter. These pagan symbols have become part of the Christian tradition. They do not take anything away from the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and they add to the celebration. Christianity has frequently absorbed the positive and neutral symbols of pagan religions while leaving the negative symbols behind, similar to Christmas trees and Halloween costumes.
Of course. No one Knows why Easter egg hunts began, but Easter began because Jesus died on the cross and rose on Easter day!
It symbolizes a new birth and renewal.
- Easter Sunday An Easter Egg is a sign of new life, it used to be prohibited food for Catholics during Lent. Ya Man
For some reason if you go on an Easter egg hunt some other time of the year it looks like you just don't find any. So if I were you I would look for Easter eggs around Easter …time. Good luck.
Thousands of years of paganism in Europe didn't just go away because a new religion came on the scene (Christianity). Easter falls near the Spring Equinox and the eggs are a s…ymbol of rebirth... Eostre was the name of an Anglo-Saxon Goddess of Spring and rebirth, hence the word "Easter"... She was sometimes represented by a hare (a symbol of fertility), hence the Easter rabbit. The church likely inserted the resurrection of Christ on the calendar during this time of year, hoping the pagan traditions would end.
so that we can celebrate how christ came back to earth and its on a Sunday because that was the day god rested. do you get the pattern now?

In many cultures, the egg symbolizes new life, fertility, and rebirth. This certainly fits in the spirit and meaning of Easter.

Yes, to celebrate Easter, people in Poland decorate eggs specifically for Easter. It is a tradition to put painted eggs in a Blessing Basket and then take it to church. Also, …for their feast, they make sure to eat eggs.

well think about it this way what if the Easter bunny gave out chocolate carrots? I mean sure there chocolate but you probably couldn't help but think you're eating vegetables… no matter what the taste, plus when you eat half a hollow egg you can pt milk in the rest and it kinda tastes like chocolate milk!
