When the Christmas tree tradition came into being a few hundred years ago in the Alsace region, the decorations consisted of nuts, apples, cookies and wooden toys. No doubt, the first birds to decorate a tree were also wooden. I just can't imagine a Christmas tree without my grandmother's very fragile birds from the l900's. Besides, what's a tree without a bird in it?

Yes they CAN grow but that does not mean they always will because different bird seed brands do different things with bird seeds witch can cause them not to grow.
Turkey does not represent anything at Christmas. It is simply a large bird that feeds a large group of people. It has become a tradition to serve either turkey or ham at Christmas.
I think they are, and if it's not the sap/tree that they are allergic to then Tinsel and Christmas ornaments etc, can also be a danger. I would keep away from allowing your Bird near a Christmas Tree. 😊
