My Jack Russell even barks when someone walks past my house, and has also scared away many postmans in her time by biting their hands when the deliever the post. It is mostly a good idea to keep Jack Russells in a quiet environment and a calm neighbourhood, otherwise they get very paranoid about anything, including unknown visitors to your home.
