Why do teenagers get pregnant at a young age?

Well, most of the time, they don't do it on purpose. Either they don't know the facts about sex and Birth Control, and they mistakenly believe they can't get pregnant when they can (like, they think you can't get pregnant the first 10 days after your period, for example, or they think you can't get pregnant if the woman is on top during sex), or they just don't believe it could ever really happen to them.

Or, they use condoms, but the condoms break. Or, they forget to take their birth control pills. Or, they pass out drunk at a party and get date-raped. Or they get raped some other way.

And some teenage girls do get pregnant on purpose. Usually they have emotional problems, and they think that having a baby will solve these problems. Maybe they never got enough love and support from their parents, and they think that if they start a family of their own, they can replace what they never had. Or they are in love with a boy, and they think that getting pregnant will make him stay with them and get married to them. Or they simply have absolutely no idea how much work and responsibility having children is.

many teenagers get pregnant at a young age by not using protection such as condoms, others because they believe that the baby's father will stay with them for getting them pregnant and some for not using proper birth control like the pill, patch, foam, or diaphragm.

I believe it is because of parents and the opposite sex. I myself have been asked to have sex by a younger male and I'm in my teens. For females it is hard to say no when a male is pressuring you constantly. It may not even be the friends saying "OH, you should do this it will be fun." It may just be the fact that for a female a male is willing to have sex or for a male the female is ready to have sex. I believe it may also have to do with the parent maybe they are pressuring to hard to be a good child or they don't care. I myself say yes at 1-25 it is to young but for most younger people the number is decreasing while the older more mature people are trying to increase that number till the thirties. So what I'm trying to say is that its mostly because of the parents and the opposite sex.

some teens decide too get pregnant at there age,because maybe they have a hard life...or some just think there ready when they are not.... some teens listen to their friend if they are sexually active and say that it feels great but most of the time when you find out you pregnant the don't feel as good.

Most teens that get pregnant do so because of lack of sex education and simply thinking that it will not happen to them. Everyone who has unprotected sex is at risk for pregnancy and STDs. If you are going to have sex always use a condom and a reliable method of birth control.

They get pregnant because of lack of protection and lack of education and knowledge about child birth and raising a child at a young age. I was a mother to a baby boy who passed when he was almost 2 years old. I had him when I was 14 years old. It was painful.
