Ursula Kemp was the first woman to confess of being a witch by her son thinking she was a witch but wasn't. He thought that she was acting weird so he confessed that she was a… witch. She only confessed because she could rather die then being told that she was a witch. .
When a person was suspected of witchcraft, they were arrested bythe Holy Office, aka the Inquisition. They were tortured for daysuntil a "confession" was made. While admitting… guilt and repentingstopped the torture, it rarely stopped a death sentence. Torturewas not limited to fit adults - children, the sick, elderly, andpregnant were all tortured without mercy. One will admit toanything after enough torture.
thoughout the book, napolean says that snowball is the traitor, but at the end napolean is the traitor
She becomes a traitor when she is seen by Clover, having human contact. Clover thinks she saw Mollie allowing a human to stroke her nose and feed her sugar. She faces this cri…ticism, and she eventually deserts the farm.

All I know is usually tortured to death to try to make them confess. In Salem,Giles Corey refused to confess, and he was pressed to death with large rocks. They kept asking him… to name his coven(which didn't exist except in the imaginations of the accusers) and his answer was "More weight" so he would die sooner.
Traditionally it was done in a number of ways. One of the most time consuming and apparently ineffective was pressing. The suspected witch was placed under a board or assembla…ge of boards and rocks were placed on top of the board. The suspected witch was interrogated, and when the questions were not answered or were answered unsatisfactorily more weight was added. Eventually the weight became so great, the suspected witch was no longer able to inhale and suffocated Still other suspected witches were dipped. Dipping involved a davit system by which the suspected witch was dangled from a seat or bosun's chair. Again questions were asked and if unanswered or not satisfacorily answered the suspected witch was dipped or dunked in a body of water, typically a small lake or pond. Sometimes no questions were asked, as dipping in itself was the test. It was commonly believed that witches floated on water like wood (or in the case of Monty Python movies small rocks or ducks). Still other suspected witches have been pilloried, burned, scalded, drawn, quartered, gibbeted, dragged, flayed, stretched or racked, suspended by their thumbs either over their heads or trussed behind their backs, thumb screwed, booted, Iron Maidened, had their hands or feet filleted (deboned), or were just burned alive--at the stake or otherwise. Generally, no confession is necessary from a witch, either the historical type or the modern and metaphorical type, as the accusation is plainly enough proof for justic to be carried out. And, when society cannot find a convenient witch, society will make one.

The word "traitor" is 'uragirimono' in Japanese.
They refer to Stalin's purges of 1936-1938, where many people were randomly killed and assassinated and publicly executed for many things that include collaboration with Germa…ny, the UK, plotting to assassinate Stalin, and other things. Most of the confessions were forced on the victims, like, they were forced to lie by the Russian secret police, and, as you read in Animal Farm, all of the animals lied when they "confessed". So basically, the Confessions refer to Stalin's great purges.
Snowball was not a traitor Napoleon wants the Farm to believe that he is to make sure that if Snowball returns, he is met with negative energy and is kicked out of the Farm N…apoleon simply uses his friendship with Snowball at the beginning of the book to get a better position in the Farm until he becomes the "comrade" in charge. To make sure that he stays at his position, Napoleon releases several lies regarding Snowball, that he ruins the Farm at night, that he demolished the windmill after the snowstorm, that he collaborated with Farmer Jones, etc... This is similar to the characters both Napoleon and Snowball represent, Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky, respectfully. Stalin and Leon were close friends before the revolution and until they both begin to compete for leadership of the Soviet Union. Stalin gains enough influence to banish Trotsky from the USSR and strip him of all his heroic titles and his reputation. It is believed that Stalin eventually plotted the assassination of Trotsky in Mexico.
