Fog forms
Fog forms when the air near the ground becomes saturated and condensation occurs on tiny particles suspended in the air.
Fog forms in stable air with light winds, high relative humidity and conditions which bring the air to its dew point.
There are basically three ways to bring the air to its *dew point:
- by cooling the air
- by evaporating water in to the air and
- by mixing of air parcels.

According to wikipedia the different between fog and mist are only in its density (Fog is thick, mist is light)

∙ 15y agofog evaporates because it is water particles in the air and water evaporates at a certain boiling point so if it is too hot the fog would evaporate and vanish into the air or just evaporate till it reaches the point in the atmosphere where it is cold enough to be a fog or it could completely evaporate.

∙ 6y agoIt doesn't always... it depends on whether there's enough heat from the sun reaching the ground. Fog - is simply water vapour that's condensed into droplets. If the ground stays cold, the fog will not dissipate.
