Watersheds are important to wildlife because they ensure that there is adequate rainfall and ground water. They assist the process through which ground water can evaporate and end up as precipitation once again. Watersheds are also important habitat for fish and other animals that need drink water often.
Watersheds are basically the areas that water flow in order to reach the ocean. For instance, a creek is part of the watershed of the St. Joseph River, which is a part of the Great Lakes Watershed, that is a part of the St. Lawrance Seaway Watershed which filters into the Atlantic. The creeks (headwaters) are the points of highest elevation, that water flows the fastest. All watersheds flow from highest elevation to lowest elevation. Also, there can always be more exact watershed. It's like the measuring cups that stack together. There can always be one smaller. So basically we have watersheds because of a slope in the elevation, causing water to flow downward into bigger bodies of water. A watershed is land that has water under it or running off it goes into the same place. Most of the watershed are contents.
Topography is the main cause of watersheds.
Because it gives us drinking , cooking , bathing water. Also it gives us clean water.
I dun know.....
some fish are not wildlife e.g goldfish while some are ee.g the catfish wildlife is very important
The protection of wildlife is important.
yes watersheds are only in the mountains
because it is important
there is no wildlife left, they hunted it , killed it , and ate it.
so that problems in the watershed can be identified before they become too serious .
Watersheds are divided by mountains and other big physical features.
Watershed Mapping Project delineated 81 Major Watersheds covering the state and around 5600 Minor Watersheds that comprised these Major Watersheds.
There are 5 watersheds in the state of PA. (major watersheds)
What affects occur when watersheds are overused or mistreated?
