I think you mean by Fitrana the charity to be paid towards end of the month of Ramadan which is called "ZAKAT ELFITR".

If this is what you mean, then it is paid- to my information-for primarily two reasons:

* First: To please the poor by end of Ramadan * Second: to seek God forgiveness and mercy upon any shortage of your side to meet all the obligations of worship during the month of Ramadan.
