A LOT of blood pumps through the veins in your wrist/forearm so it is easy to see the rate at which it pumps

There is a major blood pumping artery, so the pulse is easy to feel. The pulse can most easily be found on the wrist and on the neck for this reason.

Even the chubbiest of folks dont have much fat on the inside of the wrist!

To make sure that the heart is pumping enough times to keep you alive; for example if the heart rate is under 60 beats per minute, there may be some sort of health problem that causes it to be so low.

well i am at feversham college and i have been told by mrs snowden that the pulse needs to be found if there is a service user that has collapsed or if there is care worker thinking that the service user is not breathing.
