Why do you think it's so hard for students to make the choice to put school first?

First of all, I got my kids in other afternoon activities so that dealing with the mean kids or bullies at school would not not seem like the end of the world. I also told them that school is like the mall when you go to the mall, you go to shop for whatever and everyone else is simply in your way. You certainly would not go to the mall to make friends or find a husband....so, why would you go to school to find a husband or follow around a bunch of kids (friends) you won't remember many of their last names once you graduate? After you graduate all that high school hierarchy goes away and you are all starting over to a new life. How much you paid attention in your classes is how much easier you make it for yourself to attend college and go on to make something of yourself other than minimum wage jobs!

I have never heard of anyone paying to pass high school, but that does not mean it has never happened. If it has, it is extremely rare and a very unwise choice; a choice that is likely to come back to "haunt" the one who got out of high school that way. Some students do not realize how important school is until years after they graduate. For that reason alone, the best choice for students, even if they do not like school and think it is stupid, is to do their very best. That assures the student that there will be no chance for regrets about school later in life.
