The TRVST spelling of the word trust is normal for coins of that time period. That's just the way they did it back then -- using the greek alphabet. It's that way on all Peace Dollars, as well as some other U.S. coins. If you look at the front of a quarter from the 1920's you will see the same TRVST spelling. To give you a value on your specific coin, I will need more information about what you have -- i.e. denomination, date, any mintmark, and condition of wear. That is the national slogan Its on all our money The printing is correct. At the time, a stylized "u" looked like a "v". Read a photocopy of the Constitution and you'll also see "S" is printed as "F". It isn't of any special value, other than as any other 1923 Silver Dollar. All Peace dollars have this same TRVST spelling. You can also find this same spelling on Standing liberty Quarters (1916-1930). TRVST is the normal spelling for all Peace Dollars. 1923 is a common date -- worth about $6 in circulated grades. TRVST is the normal spelling for all Peace Dollars (1921-1935). It was done this way in tradition with the way things were done in this time period. So it's not an error -- just a normal coin from that time. I would need to know the date and condition of the coin to be more specific as to value. It's not misspelled. That was the stylized "u" and was commonly used on just about everything that involved the government. While it's worth more than a dollar, it all depends on the condition. You would need to take it to a coin collector to have it appraised. If it's worn and well used, it's probably not worth much. All Peace Dollars use the TRVST spelling -- you'll also find the same spelling on Standing Liberty quarters (1916-1930). 1923 is one of the most common dates for Peace dollars -- in circulated condition its value is about $7.00 You might try searching the questions already on FAQ Farm. This has been asked at least three times already.

What is a 1923 silver dollar with in god we trvst worth instead of god we trust?

7-29-11>>> The spelling of TRVST is just part of the design and is on all Peace Dollars. It adds NOTHING to the value of the coin. 1923 is common date and has retail values for circulated coins of $36.00-$40.00.

What is a 1923 Silver Dollar worth In God you Trust is spelled Trvst?

5-29-11>>> No US coin has ever had the motto in god YOU trvst, it's "IN GOD WE TRVST" The "V" is used because there is no "U" in the Latin alphabet which was used by the designer of this coin. All Peace dollars have this spelling, it adds nothing to the value of this coin and assuming the coin is circulated, still in collectible condition and has no mintmark, the 1922 Peace dollar is the highest mintage, most common date coin of the series, average retail values are $36.00-$40.00.

This coin is a 1923 but on the front it says in God you TRVST?

Are there known misprints of a 1924 Peace dollar coin that says In God We Trvst instead of In God We Trust and what would be the value that coin be?

There are known misprints of 1922 Peace dollars with "In God We Trvst" instead of "In God We Trust." These coins are considered errors and are rare. The value of such a coin can vary greatly depending on its condition and demand, but they can be worth hundreds of dollars or more to collectors.

Why does a 1923 coin say in god you trvst?

NO coin says "In God You Trvst" Many coins from the 1920s say "In God We Trvst", however. The spelling is definitely NOT a mistake. At that time it was common for artists who designed classically-themed works to use the Roman alphabet instead of the English one. Latin did not have the letter U; V was both a consonant and a vowel, used for both the "vee" and "you" sounds. In fact, there is an old fish display hall near Philadelphia that is still labelled "AQVARIVM"!

Does a silver dollar early 20th century that states In God you Trvst trust spelled with a V have any additional value?

TRVST is the normal spelling for all Peace Dollars (1921-1935). It was done this way because the coins were lettered with the Latin alphabet, not the English alphabet. So it's not an error -- just a normal coin from that time. And in any case the motto is In God WE Trvst, not "you". Please post a new question with the date and condition of the coin to be more specific as to value.

What is the value of a 1925 Peace dollar with In God you Trvst printed on the back?

To clear things up: > It doesn't say "In God YOU Trvst", it says "In God WE Trvst". > Coins are minted, not printed. > The motto is on the front of the coin, not the back. The motto was written using the Latin alphabet, a common artistic practice in the 1920s so it is NOT a misspelling. Please see the Related Questions for more information.

What is value of a 1923 half dollar with in god you trvst?

Please check your coin again. You'll find that the motto is In God WE Trust, and that a 1923 Walking Liberty half dollar has the word spelled using the English alphabet (TRUST) rather than the Roman alphabet (TRVST)The Latin alphabet was only used for lettering Peace dollars (1921-1935) and Standing Liberty quarters (1916-1930) so those would be the only denominations where the word is spelled with a "V".Depending on what you have, there may be more information at the Related Questions.
