In the sense of a relationship it does because you begin to miss your partner and it effects your trust and your relationship in general due to the fact that the two are together because they like or maybe even love each other but the absence can slowly tear that all apart because one can begin to question if the other truly does love them or like them since they tend to be absent from there partner. For example how are you supposed to spend time with your loved ones if you hardly see them or you cannot see them. It can effect you mentally and emotionally because you can start to doubt yourself and wonder if you are the only one with them or if maybe they don't spend time with you because they realized your simply just straight out not good enough.

In learning it affects you because you miss out in the lesson plan and how do you expect to be able to learn if you simply are not present.

In the workforce it affects you because if you are absent you lose chances to earn money and shines a bad light on you and shows that maybe you can't be relied on and you might get fired if it continues.

I hope that answered your question.
